Not only is it a smartphone similar to an iPhone or Blackberry, the A25is is
ruggedized to meet MIL-STD 810G. The super-rugged handset is also Intrinsically
Safe, meeting UL913 certification for explosive hazardous environments.
Certification under the UL913 standard, CSA C22.2 157-92 standard, and soon the European
ATEX standard, means you not only get a handset capable of withstanding the
toughness of the real world, it also won't ignite or cause a spark when you
use it in flammable environments. The combination of features, ruggedization and
Intrinsically Safe certification make the A25is the #1 choice in Intrinsically
Safe handsets. While other top providers have been known to cut corners, Airo
Wireless devices withstand the tough tests they are put through.
Housing
The A25is housing is comprised of Lexan, a lightweight material that allows the
device to maintain its ruggedness. One of the most distinctive attributes of Lexan
is its high impact strength. Few other engineering plastics can match its ability
to stand up to hard knocks in very cold or very hot temperatures. The Lexan housing
on the A25is is shatter-resistant and virtually unbreakable. Lexan resin adds
toughness and durability to the A25is, allowing the lighter weight device to
maintain the necessary safety and security standards customers need.
The physical advantages of Lexan resin begin with its strength and light weight
and extend to its resistance to the elements of heat and cold, water, and weather,
confirming the A25is IP67 and MIL-STD 810F/G ratings.
