Privacy Policy

Airo Wireless, Inc. ("Airo") believes that information security and privacy is an important part of its commitment to its customers. Airo, its subsidiaries, and affiliates have provided the following Privacy Policy ("Policy") to inform you of how your personal information is collected, used, disseminated, and protected.

General Privacy and Security
You should understand that privacy cannot be guaranteed on wireless telephone systems or computer systems and you should take necessary efforts and precautions to protect personal information when communicating in such environments. With respect to other voice communications, Airo, in conjunction with employee training, quality control, and the general provision of its products and services ("Products"), may monitor and/or electronically record any conversations with call center representatives.

Airo maintains a variety of physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards to protect information about you that you have provided. For example, we take a variety of steps to protect against unauthorized access to our systems that store and process information; such as policies limiting access to those systems to authorized personnel only.

When you are accessing our services through the Airo Wireless web site, we employ the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for the transmission of the information from you to us. Also, we use encryption technologies to protect your account information. You should keep your user names, passwords, and other access information safe and confidential to protect against unauthorized access to your account information and services. You must also choose passwords that others will not guess easily.

Personal, Non-Public and Private Information
Personal information for the purposes of this Policy means information that can be used to personally identify you or is associated with any such information. In the contect of this Policy:
  • Personal Information is information that is directly associated with a person such as their name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, activities and preferences;
  • Non-public Information is a subset of personal information, which is sensitive and not publicly available, such as a credit card number, social security number, or bank account information;
  • Private Information is a subset of non-public information and is the contents of data transmitted through Airo's Telematics Gateway including, but not limited to, a user's location data.
Use of Personal and Non-Public Information
Except as part of the sale of all or substantially all of the assets of Airo, Airo will not sell, trade, license or otherwise disseminate your personal information to any third party without your consent.

Your Personal and Non-Public Information will only be used internal to Airo, its subsidiaries and affiliates to: (i) deliver the products and services as purchased or subscribed to; (ii) understand and meet your needs and preferences; (iii) develop new and enhance existing product and service offerings; (iv) manage and develop our business and operations; and (v) meet any legal and/or regulatory requirements. Airo may use, disclose, sell, trade, license or otherwise disseminate aggregated data provided that the data is not linked to any specific individual's Personal or Non-Public Information.

Except where we are required by law, subpoena or other such legal process, including foreign courts where jurisdiction may be held outside of the United States specific to an individual's circumstances, when disclosing Personal or Non-Public Information, we will require any person to whom we provide your personal information to agree to comply with our then-current Privacy Policy; however, we will have no liability to you if any person fails to do so.

Use of Private Information
Except as part of the sale of all or substantially all of the assets of Airo, Airo will not sell, trade, license or otherwise disseminate your Private Information.

Airo shall use commercially reasonable efforts including but not limited to utilizing its proprietary data compression technology to safely transmit and receive your location data through Airo's Products. Airo shall not store any location data unless requested by you. Airo will not monitor your location at any time. You should know that all Airo Products support location transmission technology. If you are part of an organization and issued an Airo Enterprise Digital Assistant such as the Airo A25, you should consult that organization's policy on how your location is handled or monitored. As provided herin, Airo utilizes commercially reasonable efforts to safely communicate location, but assume neither responsibility nor liability for your communications of your location to a third party either knowingly, unknowingly, or accidentally. Additionally, should you let others use your A25, for example, or issue such equipment to others it is your responsibility to inform them of its capabilities and their rights provided under this Policy.

Cookies
Airo may use cookies to store and track your preferences to personalize your user experience when logging into or visiting the Airo Wireless web site. A cookie is a message that is sent to your browser from a web server and stored on your computer's hard drive. Most internet sites use cookies. You can set your browser preferences to reject all cookies, but then you will not be able to participate in most customized Products and you may be required to repeatedly submit your personal information. Cookies make your experience easier by saving your preferences and passwords. We also use cookies that contain no personal information at all.

IP Address
We may also log IP addresses for the purposes of systems administration or to report information in aggregate form to advertisers (e.g., how many visitors logged on to our web site). An IP address is a number that is assigned to your computer automatically when you user the internet. When you visit a particular web page in the Airo web site, our servers log your IP address. We do not link your IP address to personally identifiable information.

Policy Updates
Airo reserves the right to update and/or modify this Policy at any time, should either our practices change or if the law requires changes to it. If at any point Airo decides to use personally identifiable information in a manner that is materially different than what was stated at the time it was collected, we will notify you via posting on this page for thirty (30) days before the material change is made to give you an opportunity to opt out of the proposed use at any time.
